Strive Soccer FC

Strive Soccer LLC was founded with the goal of providing younger players with high level coaching from players who were once in their shoes. Each member of our team serves a crucial role in developing Strive Soccer into a successful business, cementing it as an innovative yet accessible avenue for younger players to improve.
Strive Soccer was founded during our senior year of high school, immediately following the conclusion of our final competitive season. What began as a small idea between players who still had the game fresh in their minds quickly turned into a mission to give younger athletes the guidance we once searched for ourselves. Having recently navigated the pressures of club soccer, high school competition, and the recruiting process, we understood firsthand what young players need to progress — not just technically, but mentally and physically as well.
Since then, we've worked relentlessly to scale Strive Soccer beyond a simple training operation. Through consistent programming, competitive events, and a growing presence both online and in the community, we've reached and impacted a wide audience of dedicated players. Our focus has always remained the same: create challenging, professional environments that are accessible, motivating, and centered on long-term development.
"For the Players. By the Players."
Co-Founders
Best friends and high school teammates, Jonny Davis and Yinka Bashorun are both proud to say they made it to compete at the collegiate level. Together, they partnered to form Strive Soccer — bringing their shared experience directly to the youth.
Jonny played collegiately and brings a player's perspective to every session — the kind of honest, direct coaching that only comes from someone who has lived the game at a high level.
Yinka's journey is one of relentless self-improvement. Starting as the weakest player on his ECNL RL team, he transformed his game in just two years — earning a spot at VDA ECNL and then NVA MLS Next. Now competing collegiately at Salisbury University, Yinka passes on the exact knowledge he used to rebuild himself, giving young players a roadmap to do the same.
Coaching Mentor
Coach Gonzalo Ramella is Yinka Bashorun's coaching mentor. Yinka played club soccer under Coach Ramella at Northern Virginia Alliance, where he coaches one of the top MLS Next teams in the country — going undefeated at MLS Next Flex. Previously, Coach Ramella served at DC United Academy, bringing elite-level coaching experience to every player he works with. He has been an incredible mentor and role model, and played a significant role in Yinka's and his teammates' college recruitment.
Partner
Strive Soccer is proud to announce a partnership with College Committed, bridging the gap between training and results. College Committed is a recruiting service for players who wish to compete at the next level, while also pursuing a higher education.
